Hospice and End-of-Life Support

Presence and comfort, alongside the hospice team

Hospice is wonderful, and it is not around the clock. A nurse visits a few times a week, an aide a few hours. The rest of the time it is you, at 2 AM, wondering if you are doing it right.

Hospice and End-of-Life Support from A Precious Elder

Quick answer

A Precious Elder provides non-medical hospice support at home in the South Bay: caregivers who handle comfort, personal care, meals and overnight presence between hospice nurse visits, so family can be family.

Our caregivers fill those hours. They keep your loved one clean, comfortable and repositioned, handle meals and the house, sit with them so you can sleep, and call the hospice nurse when something changes.

What's included

  • Comfort care and repositioning
  • Personal care and hygiene
  • Meals, hydration and mouth care
  • Overnight and 24-hour presence
  • Coordination with the hospice nurse and social worker
  • Respite so family members can rest
  • Quiet company in the final days

Who this is for

  • Families who want their person at home until the end
  • Nights and weekends hospice does not staff
  • Out-of-town family arriving to help

Hospice Support questions

Does hospice already cover this?

Hospice covers medical care, equipment, medications and periodic visits from nurses, aides and social workers. It does not provide continuous hands-on care at home. That gap is what families hire us for, and we work alongside the hospice team to support your parent at home.

Can you start quickly?

Yes. End-of-life referrals are our highest priority. We do our best to start the same day, including overnight coverage.
