Veterans Home Care
In-home care the VA pays for. We help you get it.
Many veterans qualify for in-home care paid entirely by the VA and never use it, because nobody told them how. The benefit is called Homemaker and Home Health Aide care. It is based on clinical need, not income, and it is delivered by community providers like us.

Quick answer
A Precious Elder is a credentialed VA Community Care Network provider in the South Bay. Eligible veterans receive Homemaker and Home Health Aide care at home at no cost, authorized by their VA primary care provider, and we help families through the approval process.
We have been through this process with veteran families. We will tell you what to ask your VA primary care team and what the referral looks like. Once approved, the VA pays us directly. You never see a bill for the authorized hours.

Veterans Care questions
Who is eligible for VA in-home care?
Veterans enrolled in VA health care who need help with daily activities, as determined by their VA primary care provider. It is a clinical decision, not a financial one, and there is no service-connected disability requirement for Homemaker and Home Health Aide care.
Does the veteran pay anything?
No. Authorized Homemaker and Home Health Aide hours are paid by the VA directly to us. Some veterans choose to add private-pay hours beyond what the VA authorizes, and we set that up as a separate, clear schedule.
What if my father is not enrolled in VA health care yet?
He applies with VA Form 10-10EZ, online at va.gov or by mail. We can assist with helping speed up your processing time. Once enrolled and assigned a primary care provider, he asks for Homemaker and Home Health Aide services. If you have not heard back after two weeks, call the VA at 877-222-8387 to check the status. We can start private-pay care in the meantime and switch when the authorization arrives.
