Transportation questions
How is transportation billed?
By the hour, like any care visit, with the usual 4-hour minimum. When the caregiver's own car is used, mileage is added at the current IRS rate. Most families pair the ride with lunch or errands so the four hours are well used.
Are caregivers insured to drive clients?
Yes. Caregivers who drive are screened for a clean DMV record and carry their own auto insurance, and the agency carries liability coverage. We check both before anyone drives a client.
